This position is responsible for the following:Serves as laboratory liaison for an extensive variety of customers receiving services from Clinton Memorial Hospital; Must demonstrate resourcefulness and teamwork; Hold a comprehensive knowledge of hospital services; Proper labeling, aliquoting, packaging and tracking of specimens through the laboratory system; Dispatch specimens to the appropriate laboratory departments and referral laboratory; Make and receive telephone calls to/from customers of Clinton Memorial Hospital to provide diagnostic laboratory services, gather necessary data for service and billing, answer questions and resolve issues; Complete paperwork to meet compliance guidelines set by OIG which include the accurate interpretation and transcription of physician orders; LIS/HIS order entry; Other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Serves as laboratory liaison for an extensive variety of customers receiving services from Clinton Memorial Hospital
2.Must demonstrate resourcefulness and teamwork
3.Hold a comprehensive knowledge of hospital services
4.Make and receive telephone calls to/from customers of Clinton Memorial to provide diagnostic laboratory services including problem resolution and follow-up
5.Receives visitors to the lab, ascertains their needs and directs them accordingly
6.Registers outreach specimen accounts as required
7.Completes order entry, phlebotomy collection, specimen receipt, and test result query into the laboratory information system
8.Performs proper labeling, aliquoting, packaging and tracking of specimens throughout the laboratory system
9.Dispatches specimens to the appropriate laboratory departments and referral laboratory
10.Contacts physicians or physician offices to gather necessary data for service and billing i.e., Medicare patient laboratory test orders for medical necessity
Hours: Part Time, 24 hours per week
