Watertown Regional Medical Center is HIRING for a PRN Registered Nurse to cover shifts at our Primary Care Clinics.

This is a per diem role that will cover shift at our 5 Primary Care Clinics. General shift hours covered will be Monday through Friday 7am to 5pm. A minimum of 2 shifts per month is expected.

The Clinic RN is a clinic team member that is responsible for helping to meet the needs of clinic patients by providing a variety of direct and indirect patient care services. These services include Care Management, Triage, Population Management, and the provision of protocol driven direct patient care under direct physician supervision. This position will implement and evaluate patient care as directed by clinic providers, and provide a coordinated approach throughout the continuum of care. The Clinic RN will help to reduce the fragmentation of patient care, which is too often experienced by patients who obtain health care services from
multiple providers. The Clinic RN position carries out these responsibilities as a team member with the guidance of accepted nursing and department practices. This position provides the knowledge and skills to meet physician, patient, staff, and/or hospital needs and performs in accordance with hospital standards and
policies. The Clinic RN position will not be used to fill in or substitute for duties normally performed by the Clinical Support position. This position is supervised by the RN Clinic Resource Specialist to ensure clinical competence, and the Clinic Coordinator for day to day administrative requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Competency/Essential Duties

  • Promoting exceptional teamwork, by working across departmental lines to serve our patients and guests, and by working to maintain quality working relationships with coworkers, other departments and with the Medical Staff.
  • Displaying an ability to provide assistance, or care, appropriate for the ages and developmental needs, of patients and other individuals served, while performing the duties of the job.
  • Performing all position duties and responsibilities in accordance with standards of Joint Commission and WRMC's performance evaluation and competency assessment policies.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with external and internal Clinic customers and patients, transfers information, direction and concerns between staff and the Clinic physician.
  • Carries out safety control procedures to insure patient, staff, and visitor safety.
  • Greets patients professionally in a warm and friendly manner.
  • Performs treatments and procedures, administration of medications, patient communication and education in compliance with established nursing service policies and procedures.
  • Obtains and accurately records all patient information necessary for the proper care and treatment of the patient.
  • Incorporates patient and family teaching in nursing care.
  • Keeps abreast of all clinic and nursing policies and regulations.
  • Develops and maintains communication and social skills and safeguards the confidentiality of all patients at all times.
  • Participates in the nursing process for care, assessment, preparation, and implementation of a patient care plan of patients. Makes initial and continued assessment of patients' physical, psychological, and spiritual needs.
  • Makes appropriate referrals to other specialties and hospital resources as needed.
  • Displays awareness of the function and relationships of related departments of the hospital necessary for the nursing care of patients.
  • Plans nursing care with patient including formulating goals for nursing care, prescribing nursing actions to achieve these goals, and using priorities for nursing actions. Performs treatments and procedures and administration of medications in compliance with established nursing service policies and procedures.
  • Manages a case load of Care Management Patients and organizes assignments appropriately.
  • When providing care management the Clinic RN utilizes strategies and interventions targeted at the achievement of patient stability, wellness and autonomy through advocacy, coaching, planning, communication, education, resource management, care coordination and collaboration with the health team; Incorporates patient and family teaching to nursing care. Educates patients and significant others about health problems, self care, and treatment plan.
  • Keeps abreast of all hospital and nursing policies and regulations.
  • Develops and maintains communication and social skills and safeguards the confidentiality of all patients at all times.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in fields of expertise. Maintains practice standards.
  • Provides assistance to patients seeking clinic care both telephonically and in person, by guiding them to the correct level of care.
  • Participates in data collection, evaluation, and quality improvement efforts focused on improving the health of the population served by the clinic.


Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing, REQUIRED; BSN, preferred 
  • CPR (AHA Healthcare Provider) at hire or within 60 days
  • Currently Licensed by the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing as an RN, REQUIRED
  • Minimum three-year related nursing experience, preferred; Clinic nursing experience HIGHLY preferred
