Under general clinical supervision of the Physical Therapist, to independently implement planned patient care programs as established by the Physical Therapist, using a variety of physical therapy treatment procedures.

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served in his/her department. The individual must acquire and/or demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. He/she must be able to provide care with consideration of developmental status.

Minimum Education
Education:

Graduation from an accredited PTA program with minimum of an Associate’s degree is required.

Licensure:

Physical Therapist Assistant: Licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of KY is required. Candidates may apply prior to graduating or receiving licensure but must obtain state licensure within 3 months of hire.

Basic Life Support certification required on date of hire and must remain in good standing.
