For over 60 years, the citizens of Anderson and surrounding counties have depended on the healthcare facilities in Palestine. Serving approximately 100,000 people, PRMC provides 150 beds with a highly skilled staff of healthcare professionals. A full range of comprehensive care is offered, including the latest in diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitative services, both on an inpatient and outpatient basis. Approximately 500 employees and 40 volunteers work closely with the medical staff, which includes over 70 physicians representing 28 different medical specialties. Job Summary

  • The Spvr-Nursing Administration is responsible for the supervision and coordination of nursing services during a designated shift
  • This role supports patient care delivery, staff management, hospital policy implementation, and operational continuity
  • In the absence of hospital leadership, the Supervisor-Nursing Administration functions as the administrative representative, ensuring safe and efficient care
  • The position requires strong clinical judgment, leadership ability, and effective communication across all hospital departments

Essential Functions

  • Supervises all nursing service activities during the scheduled shift
  • Coordinates with other departments to ensure continuity of care
  • Communicates significant shift events and issues to the Director of Nursing Services
  • Assists in policy and procedure interpretation and implementation
  • Manages nursing staff performance and assists with hiring, training, and discipline
  • Participates in quality improvement, infection control, and safety initiatives
  • Monitors and adjusts staffing to meet patient care needs
  • Serves as a resource for clinical staff regarding patient care and hospital protocols
  • Initiates and follows up on service recovery and incident reports
  • Ensures compliance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements

  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage stress effectively
  • Empathy and strong customer service orientation
  • Knowledge of nursing procedures, hospital policies, and patient care standards
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 40 pounds
  • Activities involving stooping, kneeling, reaching, and crouching
  • Must be able to respond quickly in emergency situations
  • Hospital-based clinical settings
  • Exposure to infectious diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and various medical equipment
  • Must meet hospital health and screening requirements

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program

Licenses/Certifications

  • Registered nurse in the state of practice or compact license if applicable in state of practice

Experience

  • Minimum of two years of acute care hospital experience preferred
  • Minimum two years of medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
  • Experience in applicable clinical care areas preferred
  • Experience in supervising a team
