The PTA will provide physical therapy in accordance with the treatment plan designed by the Physical Therapist. The PTA will keep the PT informed of progress and need for updating the plan of treatment. The PTA will provide patient education and care giver training as needed to meet the goals of the patient
QualificationsMinimum Education
PTA must graduate from an accredited PTA College Program
A minimum of 2 years of college is required.
Required Licenses
[Texas, United States] Physical Therapy Assistant
License to practice in Texas obtained and maintained from the Executive Counsel of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners is required.
Required Skills
The PTA will be required to provide treatment to patients within their scope of practice, document services rendered on a computerized format, know the use of and function of PT equipment, have strong communication skills, identify patient progress and problems and know when goals are met and need adjustment or discharge.
