Patient Care Technician, Med Surge FT Nights

Essential Duties

• Aid with movement and placement of patients
• Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living
• Report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff
• Document necessary records
• Keep patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintain medical equipment
• Perform emergency department specific care/duties as assigned within scope of job 
• Perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision

Education and Experience

Minimum Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Requirements

• Successful completion of a Patient Care Training program: highly preferred not required
• Minimum six months experience: preferred / not required
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

Licensure/Certification Requirements

• Nursing Assistant Certification preferred
• BLS Certification required after 30 days of employment
