Job Summary
The Manager of Clinical Nutrition leads and manages clinical nutrition services within the healthcare facility. This role oversees the delivery of high-quality nutritional care, supervises clinical dietitians, ensures regulatory compliance, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams. The Manager drives quality improvement initiatives, manages departmental resources, and supports the professional development of nutrition staff.
Essential Functions
Supervises and mentors clinical dietitians and other nutrition staff.
Manages daily clinical nutrition operations including staffing, scheduling, and workload allocation.
Oversees the development and implementation of individualized nutrition care plans.
Collaborates with medical and nursing staff to integrate nutritional care into overall treatment plans.
Monitors the effectiveness of nutritional interventions and revises care plans as necessary.
Leads quality improvement initiatives and ensures compliance with documentation and regulatory standards.
Conducts audits and assessments to improve service delivery and patient outcomes.
Provides education and training for staff, patients, and families.
Develops and manages the department budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
Oversees procurement and inventory of nutrition-related supplies and equipment.
Serves as a liaison with other departments and participates in interdisciplinary team meetings.
Ensures compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including Joint Commission and CMS standards.
Prepares for and participates in regulatory inspections and surveys.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field with completion of a dietetic internship or equivalent supervised practice (required)
Master’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field (preferred)
Licenses/Certifications:
RD or RDN – Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credential (required)
Licensed Dietitian (LD) or state licensure in the state of practice, if required (required)
Experience:
3–5 years of clinical nutrition experience (required)
1+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role (preferred)
