The Cath Lab Technician is responsible for the care and safety of patient's undergoing procedures where radiation exposure is required for imaging studies. The tech will ensure that all proper shielding is utilized for both patient and staff safety. The tech is required to have a basic understanding of hemodynamics and a strong working knowledge of vascular anatomy. The tech must be able to work within a sterile environment and maintain competence in the use of all equipment and supplies relevant to the Cath Lab. Call status is required with a 30 minute response time.
QualificationsMinimum Education
Must posses a degree from an accredited school of Radiology or Cardiovascular Technology
Required Licenses
[United States] Radiologic Technologist and Technician
ARRT or CVT
Texas State: TMB - Registered Technologist
BLS -- 3 months
ACLS -- 6 months
Minimum Work Experience
Minimum 1 year. Previous Cath Lab experience preferred.
