JOB SUMMARY
As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. To assist with the efficient operation of the front office and clinic area. To support the full time staff in the various tasks of running the clinic. Displays excellent customer service to the patients of the RHC. To represent the RHC in a professional manner to all external contacts. To support the goals and objectives of the RHC while delivering all services

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Under the direction of an RN, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care. May administer medication. Documents patient care given.
Assists RN with development of plan of care.
Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education
□ Licensed as a Vocational Nurse in the State of Texas □ Required
Experience:
Minimum of one year in a healthcare /medical office setting. Physician practice experience desirable.
Required Skills:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Licensed Vocational Nurse Experience in a medical office required Self directed and able to work independently Friendly and courteous. Excellent customer service skills.
Certifications:
BCLS required within 90 days
