Description

Director of Therapy ensure timely evaluation of patients within the expertise of patients within the areas of OT, PT, and Speech therapies. In addition, the director implements programs in the areas of patient and family education, home programs, in-services for other departments, back-to-school, community education, employee fitness, and post-offer physical exams for the hospital as required.


Qualifications

Minimum Education
Degree in either OT, PT, or Speech Therapy with corresponding education.

A) Minimum Education: Graduate of an approved program in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy and by the Council on Medical Education and Hospital of the American Medical Association. If other than Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist, must have either BA or BS in Business or Health Care field.

Minimum Work Experience
Minimum Experience: 2 years experience Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and/or four years management experience.

If either a Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist, required Certification/Registration to be licensed by the Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners of the State of Texas with current certification.

Required Skill
Physical Demands:
1) Must meet all physical and mental requirements as identified by the physical activity evaluation form.

2) Must be aware of patient care including patient transfers, using and cleaning of hydrotherapy tanks, lifting and carrying weights for patient use, frequent bending, walking, lifting and manual resistance exercises.
