Logan Regional

Logan Regional Medical Center is a 132-bed acute care facility in Logan, West Virginia. The hospital offers a full range of health care services in a recently expanded facility. A renovated $1.1 million Physical Rehabilitation Unit opened in 2003. A $20 million Emergency Department and Facility Renovation, completed in 2005, added approximately 42,000 square feet to the facility and renovated approximately 8,000 square feet within the existing hospital. The Emergency Department includes 22 rooms, a portable X-ray unit, a CAT scan, a portable ultrasound, X-ray rooms and three trauma rooms. The second floor includes the Women’s Center, with three labor and delivery suites, a staging area and a nine-bed nursery with the latest in safety and LDR security features. PACS Technology, which allows physicians in the Emergency Department to make consultations 24 hours a day with radiologists at other facilities across the country, has also been installed. JOB SUMMARY

  • Supervises daily staff activities for an assigned area or function.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels
  • Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions
  • Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs
  • Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels
  • Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Incumbent must attend ethics and code of conduct training provided by LRMC Education Department within 30 days of employment and annually thereafter
  • Incumbent must have HIPAA training provided by LRMC Education Department within 30 days of employment and annually thereafter
  • Will participate in committees/teams/work groups as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Education

  • Associate’s Degree Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse
  • WV Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required to be obtained within 30 days of hire
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required to be obtained within 30 days of hire
  • 12 Lead EKG Preferred

Experience

  • One Year Of Clinical Experience Required
  • One Year Of Supervisory Experience Preferred

Required Skills

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
