Logan Regional

Logan Regional Medical Center is a 132-bed acute care facility in Logan, West Virginia. The hospital offers a full range of health care services in a recently expanded facility. A renovated $1.1 million Physical Rehabilitation Unit opened in 2003. A $20 million Emergency Department and Facility Renovation, completed in 2005, added approximately 42,000 square feet to the facility and renovated approximately 8,000 square feet within the existing hospital. The Emergency Department includes 22 rooms, a portable X-ray unit, a CAT scan, a portable ultrasound, X-ray rooms and three trauma rooms. The second floor includes the Women’s Center, with three labor and delivery suites, a staging area and a nine-bed nursery with the latest in safety and LDR security features. PACS Technology, which allows physicians in the Emergency Department to make consultations 24 hours a day with radiologists at other facilities across the country, has also been installed. JOB SUMMARY

Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Reports to: Director of Emergency Services

FLSA: Non-exempt

Grade: N20

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Required Skills:

Certifications:
□ Basic Life Support (BLS) required to be obtained within 30 days of hire
□ Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required to be obtained within 30 days of hire
□ TNCC recommended
□ HWC required to be obtained within 30 days of hire
□ Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required to be obtained within 30 days of hire

Licenses:

WV RN or compact state license required
