Logan Regional

Logan Regional Medical Center is a 132-bed acute care facility in Logan, West Virginia. The hospital offers a full range of health care services in a recently expanded facility. A renovated $1.1 million Physical Rehabilitation Unit opened in 2003. A $20 million Emergency Department and Facility Renovation, completed in 2005, added approximately 42,000 square feet to the facility and renovated approximately 8,000 square feet within the existing hospital. The Emergency Department includes 22 rooms, a portable X-ray unit, a CAT scan, a portable ultrasound, X-ray rooms and three trauma rooms. The second floor includes the Women’s Center, with three labor and delivery suites, a staging area and a nine-bed nursery with the latest in safety and LDR security features. PACS Technology, which allows physicians in the Emergency Department to make consultations 24 hours a day with radiologists at other facilities across the country, has also been installed. Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant assists professional nursing personnel in providing patient care in assigned areas. Responsibilities include assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing personal care, emotional support, and performing basic clinical tasks under the supervision of registered nursing personnel. Ensures the safety, comfort, and well-being of patients while maintaining a clean and organized patient care environment.

Essential Functions

  • Assists patients with daily living activities including bathing, grooming, feeding, and ambulation.
  • Measures and records vital signs, weight, height, and intake and output measurements.
  • Observes patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and reports abnormalities to nursing staff.
  • Prepares patient rooms for admission, discharge, and transfers; maintains cleanliness and order.
  • Transports patients to and from various departments as needed.
  • Assists nursing staff with routine clinical tasks, including application of heat/cold packs and enema administration.
  • Performs post-mortem care and assists in transporting bodies to the morgue as required.
  • Responds promptly to patient call lights and assists in meeting patient needs.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under supervision and handle stressful situations.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency for documentation purposes.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in all interactions

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant course preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.

Experience

  • Six months of experience in an acute care or long-term care facility preferred.
