Logan Regional

Logan Regional Medical Center is a 132-bed acute care facility in Logan, West Virginia. The hospital offers a full range of health care services in a recently expanded facility. A renovated $1.1 million Physical Rehabilitation Unit opened in 2003. A $20 million Emergency Department and Facility Renovation, completed in 2005, added approximately 42,000 square feet to the facility and renovated approximately 8,000 square feet within the existing hospital. The Emergency Department includes 22 rooms, a portable X-ray unit, a CAT scan, a portable ultrasound, X-ray rooms and three trauma rooms. The second floor includes the Women’s Center, with three labor and delivery suites, a staging area and a nine-bed nursery with the latest in safety and LDR security features. PACS Technology, which allows physicians in the Emergency Department to make consultations 24 hours a day with radiologists at other facilities across the country, has also been installed. Job Summary

Provides continuous surveillance of cardiac telemetry monitors to identify and report significant changes in cardiac rhythms. Supports patient safety and clinical communication in centralized monitoring environments.

Essential Functions

  • Continuously observe and interpret cardiac rhythms from telemetry monitors
  • Record rhythm strips at designated intervals and notify nursing staff of changes
  • Maintain monitor station cleanliness and function; report equipment issues
  • Document rhythm interpretations and maintain accurate logbooks
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with unit nursing staff

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations

  • Ability to interpret dysrhythmias accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Able to multitask and respond calmly in emergencies
  • Proficient in EMR systems and basic computer functions

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

Licenses/Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire

Experience

  • No prior experience required
  • Completion of orientation and dysrhythmia interpretation competency is required
