Job Summary

  • The Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for managing day-to-day operations across all supply chain functions within the hospital and warehouse
  • This role supports supply request fulfillment, inventory control, staff scheduling, and vendor interactions under the direction of the Director of Supply Chain Management
  • The coordinator also provides guidance and oversight to supply chain personnel while ensuring continuity of operations and compliance with established procedures

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates and supervises daily supply chain operations including staffing, par level management, and scheduling of on-call coverage
  • Provides leadership through orientation, training, coaching, and mentorship of supply chain staff
  • Resolves discrepancies related to pricing, backorders, vendor shipping errors, and substitutions
  • Approves purchase order price changes and monitors inventory par level maintenance
  • Oversees Par File maintenance and Order Receipt (OREC) processes including receipt validation and proof of delivery
  • Communicates with departments regarding stock availability, delays, and critical materials lead times
  • Provides supply cost analysis and supports product conversions in collaboration with the Director
  • Assists with patient charge entry and requisitioning support for hospital end users
  • Participates in performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed
  • Oversees daily receiving functions, ensuring proper documentation and verification of incoming supplies
  • Maintains updated PTO calendar and timekeeping records for supply chain staff using Kronos or equivalent system

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations

  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including professionalism with internal departments and external vendors
  • Ability to handle confidential information and resolve complex issues
  • Proficiency in inventory systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and pushing carts
  • Requires fine motor skills, vision accuracy, and color perception
  • Capable of performing repetitive tasks with speed and attention to detail
  • Hospital and warehouse environments with potential exposure to communicable diseases
  • Requires physical agility and ability to work in both quiet and noisy conditions

Qualifications

Education 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred

Licenses/Certifications

  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required

Experience

  • Previous experience in a healthcare supply chain environment required
  • Knowledge of supply chain management systems and hospital purchasing protocols preferred
