The work location for this position is Lewiston, Idaho

This is a PRN position (On-Call - No Benefits) - you will receive an additional 15% PRN pay in lieu of benefits

Position Summary:

May administer Roentgen rays and radioactive substances and magnetic resonance.Operates imaging equipment, develops film. prepares exam room, equipment and supplies.Provides patient services using imaging modalities.

Primary (Essential) Duties:

  • Follows the prescribed techniques in administering all types of procedures.
  • Maintains working inventory of supplies.
  • Prepares patient for procedures, explains procedure, assists patient to and from exam room.
  • Prepares contrast agents.  Prepare other materials in accordance with procedure.
  • Observes equipment and patient and reports unusual occurrences.
  • Cleans and disinfects procedure room and equipment.
  • Develops film in accordance with photographic techniques.
  • Performs general office duties.
  • Uses proper radiation safety techniques.
  • May be required to perform in more than one modality.  Duties could be any three of: Diagnostic, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, and Angio.
  • Transports patients.
  • Performs quality control and quality assurance duties as assigned.
  • Train other staff members as required.
  • Assess equipment needs with Director.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must have registration and certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine, or certification and registration with the ARRT in another modality (i.e. radiography, computed tomography, MRI, etc.) and documented training on the provision nuclear medicine examinations.
  • Performance of job includes neo-natal, infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric patient care.  
  • Current BLS on first day or to be assigned by the Learning Center
