As a Clinical/Staff pharmacists you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact as an integral part of our hospital pharmacy team.  Our team members value the outcomes associated with providing top-notch patient care.  Because of our rural location, you will face challenges that differ from other metropolitan locations.  We are looking for the right individual who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do!  In this role:

  • You will interact with patients, their significant others, and health care team members while maintaining professional standards in serving patients of all ages.
  • You will provide prescribed medications, drugs (including chemotherapy) and other supplies as needed for appropriate patient care according to professional standards and practices.
  • You will transcribe physician prescriptions and medications orders into the EHR system to generate a label for medication distribution
  • You will act as a drug information resource to patients, medical staff, nursing staff, and ancillary department personnel.
  • You will display ownership and accountability by treating patients, their caregivers, and co-workers with care and respect
  • You will partake in teamwork by working cooperatively with team members and demonstrate flexibility by readily adapting to the scheduling needs of the department which may include the occasional technician shift
  • You will become proficient in understanding Omnicell, our automated dispensing system, and take initiative to help solve challenges associated with its use
  • You will assist in the orientation and development of new staff/students in cooperation with the staff development coordinator or supervisor
  • You will strive to aid the pharmacy in reaching the goals and objectives assigned to it by upper management
  • You will conduct lectures and in-services for physicians and other hospital personnel as requested in an organized manner to meet the needs of the audience.

Scion Health considers a consistently positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous, and professional attitude to be an essential function of every position.  While different positions have different primary areas of responsibility, everyone needs to work as a team, and we expect all employees to roll up their sleeves and pitch in as necessary to get the job done.

Employees must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: (a) can get along with co-workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes, (b) perform work activities requiring negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading, or speaking with others; and (c) respond appropriately to constructive feedback from a supervisor.

While this job description is intended to be an accurate reflection of the requirements of the job, management reserves the right to add or remove duties from particular jobs when circumstances (e.g., emergencies, changes in workload, rush jobs or technological developments) dictate.
