The work location for this position is Lewiston, Idaho

Full-Time: 80-hrs per pay period

Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Quality and Learning Center, and the supervision of the Clinical Data Analyst Supervisor, supports a comprehensive Medical Center quality program. Responsibilities shall include abstraction of data for internal and external use.  

Responsibilities shall be discharged in such a manner as to support the goals and objectives of the Medical Center’s quality improvement and in keeping with Mission, Philosophy, and Values of the organization.  

Primary (Essential) Duties:

  • Responsible for the submission of Joint Commission and CMS required quality data to the designated vendor in the form of Core Measures data abstraction.
  • Responsible for collection and submission of accurate data into the state and national registries. 
  • Performs data entry with an approved accuracy rate in the defined timeframe.
  • Responsible for generating monthly and quarterly reports related to Quality Measure compliance.
  • Responsible for reviewing the records requested by designated vendor for external chart audit validation of submitted quality data.
  • Participates in the Patient Safety Clinical Quality/Performance Innovation and Improvement Process by assisting the Director of Quality with meeting preparation and minute taking.
  • Assists the director with quality reviews to identify opportunities for improvement or problem resolution.  Examples include but are not limited to:
    • Joint Commission Accreditation and Certification Metrics as assigned
    • Mortality and Morbidity Review
    • Other quality reviews as concerns are identified.
  • Assists the director in maintaining Quality Assurance Profiles, Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE) and Focused Professional Practice Evaluations (FPPE) on physicians/allied health professionals on the Medical Staff.
  • Complete any required education courses required by registries or deemed appropriate by the Quality and Learning Center Director.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in health information management, Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, or related Healthcare
  • Three (3) or more years of data management, data analysis, or quality improvement experience in an acute care or clinical setting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
