The work location for this position is in Lewiston, Idaho

This is a PRN position (On-Call - No Benefits) - you will receive an additional 15% PRN pay in lieu of benefits

Hours:  Tuesday - Friday, 8a.m. – 4:30p.m. with the hours shared between the Acute Rehab Unit and Inpatient units

Under general clinical supervision of the Occupational Therapist (OT), to independently implement planned patient care programs as established by the Occupational Therapist, using a variety of occupational therapy treatment procedures.

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served in his/her department.The individual must acquire and/or demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.He/she must be able to provide care with consideration of developmental status.

Primary Duties

  • Based upon the treatment outcome goals established for the patient, by the OT, plan and implement treatment programs designed to achieve or significantly progress toward achievement of outcome goals.Treatment programs will be dynamic relative to the clinical response of the patient and will achieve a level of consistency and continuity that will enhance the patient's clinical response.
  • Based upon the initial assessment of the patient and the clinical response to the treatment program, monitor functional needs of the patient and maintain appropriate treatment goals.Such goals will be established as an expected outcome of the patient's treatment plan, will be expressed in measurable terms, and will be realistic and appropriate to the patient's condition.
  • Based upon the clinical response of the patient relative to the treatment plan, complete progress and discharge documentation accurately and in a timely manner, using professional terminology.Treatment notes are written for each treatment given and accurately reflect both the treatment received as well as the length of the treatment.Progress reports are written at appropriate intervals throughout the patient's period of care and the treatment outcome goals as well as the level of progress toward those goals is readily apparent from the report.A discharge summary is written for each patient discharged from therapy and the final level of achievement for each outcome goal is readily apparent from this summary.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree required
  • Must be a graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program or eligible for graduation within the next 6 months.
  • Must be licensed to practice in the State of Idaho
  • BLS on first day or to be assigned by the Learning Center
