Job Summary

  • Responsible for coordinating patient intake for psychiatric services, including inpatient, partial hospital, intensive outpatient, and general outpatient programs. Conducts clinical assessments, facilitates patient registration, and ensures accurate documentation in alignment with organizational policies and standards.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct clinical assessments for self-admit and referral patients to determine service needs
  • Coordinate patient intake for psychiatric services, including inpatient, partial hospital, and outpatient care
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure seamless patient transitions
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient information, including medical history and consent forms
  • Verify patient insurance information and ensure proper authorization for services
  • Monitor patient status and update the interdisciplinary team regarding changes in condition
  • Manage patient discharge processes, ensuring continuity of care and appropriate follow-up arrangements
  • Participate in community outreach and marketing efforts as needed

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in high-stress, fast-paced environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to make sound judgments under pressure

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred

Licenses/Certifications

  • None required

Experience

  • Minimum of one year of experience, preferably in a behavioral health setting
  • Knowledge of healthcare registration, intake, and discharge processes
