Job Summary

• Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice

Essential Functions

To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation:

• Performs and/or coordinates patient care, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatment, as week a other medical care treatment
• Documents patient care given
• Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient and family
• Assists patients with understanding providers plan of care and necessary home instructions
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care including patient transfer. referral and spiritual/psychosocial support as needed
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition and circumstances
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient
• Other duties as assigned

Education

• Associate degree or higher in nursing required; BSN preferred

Licenses/Certification

• Current RN State license or Compact State License (if lives outside of SC)
• BLS - required upon hire and continuously thereafter

Experience

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
