Monitor Tech Part Time

Job Summary: 

• Performs basic patient care activities and related non-professional services in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients
• Monitors and records vital signs
• Set up, maintain and uses equipment and devices

Essential Functions:

To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation

• Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors
• Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects artifacts
• Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental or emotional conditions to nursing staff
• Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to supervisor
• Other duties as assigned

Education: 

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, preferred

Certification:

• Current State Certification (CNA)
• BLS-required upon hire and continuously thereafter
• CPI - required within 6 months of hire and annually thereafter
• EKG Certification - required within 3 months of hire and continuously thereafter

Experience:

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
