Job Summary

  • Supervised the environmental services process in accordance with hospital policy/procedure, infection control guidelines and requirement of accreditation and regulatory agencies

Essential Functions 

  • Inspects the physical condition of the hospital; recommends painting, repairs and furnishing for efficient and sanitary space utilization
  • Supervises and monitors the work performed by the aides
  • Supervises furniture moves and room set-up
  • Maintains equipment in good working condition and ensures the availability of needed supplies
  • Conducts research into housekeeping technology improvements
  • Screens and selects qualified personnel for department openings
  • Prepares the departmental budget, maintains all required records/reports, and establishes policies for the department
  • Develops work schedules to ensure man-hours and expenses stay within approved department budget
  • Hires, trains, and conducts performance appraisals and interim progress reviews
  • Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards
  • Promotes adherence to the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and the Corporate Compliance Agreement by monitoring employee performance and identifying and responding to compliance issues

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations 

  • Approximate percent of time required to travel: 0%
  • Must read, write and speak fluent English
  • Must have good and regular attendance
  • Ability to deal with stressful situations while maintaining composure is expected
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all patient and/or employee information to assure patient and/or employee rights and protected
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED

Licenses/Certifications

  • None

Experience

  • One to two years supervisory/leadership experience
