Description

Kindred Hospital Dayton and Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) is a 97-bed hospital. With 51 long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) beds, we offer the same in-depth care you would receive in a traditional hospital, but for an extended recovery period. Our 46-bed behavioral health unit offers treatment for adults ages 18+, including dedicated services for geriatric patients. The unit offers 24-hour supervised psychiatric treatment and crisis support for mental health issues and like the LTACH, we partner with your physician and offer 24-hour clinical care seven days a week so you can start your journey to wellness. We are located downtown Dayton near the I-75 and I-35 junction, to the west of the Great Miami River.

Job Summary

As an Expressive Therapist you will be responsible for providing direct clinical services to child, adolescent, and adult patients utilizing art and other expressive therapies to address interpersonal issues that cause emotional distress.

Essential Functions

  • These include art therapy, music therapy and dance/movement therapy and certifications allowing for therapeutic interventions of specific group types.
  • Depending on certification other modalities such as play therapy, EMDR and other trauma-informed interventions may be utilized as clinical appropriate for the patient or population.
  • Planning and implementation of group sessions for each population.
  • Planning and implementation of individual sessions.
  • Documentation of group sessions and individual sessions.
  • Completion of Activity Therapy assessments.
  • Planning and assisting with programming outside of normal group hours for special events.
  • Maintaining and ordering appropriate materials and supplies for interventions.

Pay Range: $27.77-$41.26/hr.

Qualifications

Education

  • Master’s Degree in Art, Music, Dance/Movement Therapy from an accredited school.

Licenses/Certifications 

  • Certification or registry appropriate to the disciple of study, such as the American Art Therapy Association (AATA). 
  • Independent practice scope licensure as an LPC, LMFT or LCSW is desired. 
  • CPR and CPI.

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience.
