Job Summary

Supervises Radiology services including Diagnostic Imaging and Ultrasound. Troubleshoots and operates radiology equipment as necessary to ensure operational efficiency. 

Essential Functions 

  • Reviews work schedules and assigns duties to employees to maintain patient flow and achieve production goals. 
  • Oversees staff in operation of imaging equipment such as x-ray machine, fluoroscope, CT (computerized topography) scanner, or MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) equipment, evaluates accuracy and quality of images. Provides technical assistance when needed. 
  • Demonstrates new techniques, equipment, and procedures to staff. 
  • Implements and monitors radiation safety measures to ensure safety of patients and staff and compliance with government regulatory requirements. 
  • Coordinates purchase of supplies and equipment and makes recommendations concerning department operating budget. 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to the patient population served. 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations

  • Approximate percent of time required to travel 5% 
  • Must read, write and speak fluent English. 
  • Must have good and regular attendance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate from an accredited institution in medical radiography. 

Licenses/Certifications

  • The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration. 
  • Current BLS certification. 
  • State certifications/licensure as required by the state in which employed 

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years Radiologic Technology experience in acute care setting required. 
  • Minimum 1 year supervisory experience preferred.
