Provides medical care to patients under the direction of a supervising physician. Examines, evaluates, and treats patients with medical conditions, illness or injuries. Augments a physician's ability to provide medical services to patients; collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physician in diagnosing and prescribing necessary treatment and services for quality patient care; records the normal and abnormal data for review by the physician. Orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations and provides direct patient care services.
This consistent of conducting Cardiology Clinic, as well as monitoring patients during stress testing, monitoring pacemaker and defibrillator reporting and lastly rounding on Cardiac patients in the hospital when on call.
Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination.
Documents patient care performed, assessments made, and orders given.
Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies.
Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.
Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions, including use of prescriptive authority and referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health and wellness, treatment options, and community resources.
Provides care in the context of promoting age- and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision-making, and the right to self-determination.
Ensures and facilitates patient safety and quality service in the delivery of all direct patient care activities.
Minimum Education
X Master's degree X Required
X Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program X Required
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

X Basic Life Support (BLS)
Licenses:
Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse/Advanced Practice with the Georgia Board of Nursing.
