The Multi-Care Technician III (MCT III) is an advanced support role within the patient care team. This position requires prior experience and advanced training in patient care, clerical support, EKG performance, and continuous telemetry monitoring. The MCT III performs patient care activities with minimal supervision under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) and may assist with orienting or training new staff members.
Provides patient care and support with minimal supervision under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Performs vital sign checks, blood glucose monitoring, and records patient intake and output.
Assists patients with hygiene, ambulation, nutrition, positioning, and comfort care.
Performs EKG testing and monitors telemetry rhythms, reporting abnormalities to appropriate clinical staff.
Maintains supply inventory and ensures patient care areas remain organized and adequately stocked.
Communicates effectively with interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families.
Demonstrates critical thinking and patient-centered care in support of clinical staff and patient needs.
Maintains accurate clinical documentation and records in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
May assist with orientation and training of new Multi-Care Technicians or support staff as assigned.
Performs additional duties as assigned to support patient care and departmental operations.
Ability to safely lift, move, and assist patients and equipment in accordance with safety protocols.
Knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer skills used in healthcare settings.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills.
Familiarity with infection prevention practices and hospital safety standards.
Ability to work effectively in a team-based clinical environment.
Demonstrates professionalism, accountability, and commitment to patient-centered care.
Postsecondary (Cert/Diploma/Program Grad) completion of Nursing Asst, Patient Care Tech, Medical Assistant or Emergency Medical Tech program (Required) Or Some College Coursework Completed in an accredited school of nursing to include successful completion of at least 1 semester. (May be Considered)
