JOB SUMMARY
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment, systems and structures throughout the facility.

Reports to: Director of Plant Operations

FLSA: Non-exempt
Grade: G15
EEO: 08 Laborers and Helpers

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Installs, tests, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, and systems as scheduled or needed. Performs utility and structural repairs as needed, alone or in collaboration with internal/external tradespersons.
  • Inspects, tests, and maintains records for all fire risers, sprinklers, extinguishers, fire doors, and other fire/safety-related equipment and systems.
  • Moves items within/between locations and from/to storage.

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs urgent corrective, routine and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems as required.
  • Assists in maintaining and repairing HVAC controls and associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels in all environmentally controlled areas.
  • A thorough knowledge of how to use and maintain plant tools and equipment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and is able to identify each patient's age specific needs to promote a safe environment needed by a patient group.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.
  • Three to six (3-6) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
    experience preferred.

Required Skills

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be
    able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Must possess good communication skills.
  • Must be able to fulfill the job requirements of minimal lifting and pulling.
  • Be knowledgeable and competent in infection control responsibilities.

Certifications:

  • Handle with Care required within 90 days from date of hire or transfer.
  • Valid driver's license.
