Jarrell King Talent Acquisition
Responsible for successfully managing the organizational and administrative operations of Logan Memorial Hospital Patient Financial Services. Performing supervisory duties including hiring, training, evaluating, and the day to day management of all aspects of Registration, Scheduling and PBX departments. They will assist with developing/implementing policies and procedures that guide or support services, assess and improve performance. Emphasis will be placed on customer service, patient satisfaction, staff development and fiscal goals. Registration Supervisor will collaborate and coordinate with Patient Financial Services Director. Assist with registration and admissions of patients as well as other areas of Patient Financial Services as needed. Assist in the training of all new hires.
Promote a positive attitude and working environment. Other duties as assigned.
PBX: Receives and relays incoming and outgoing telephone calls for the facility. Provides directory information, transfers calls as appropriate. Monitors the facilities’ emergency switches and panels at all times. Makes general and emergency announcements over the facility’s PA system. Handles the facility paging system. Assist ER registration with ER patient pre-registration. Enters all drop off lab admission in the system and accurately enters all lab orders in the HMS system. QA’s all patient registrations and makes corrections as needed.
ER Registration Area: Arranges for the efficient and orderly admission of inpatients, emergency room, and admission of individuals who have hospital-based outpatient testing or procedures. Ensures that the patient information is collected and that patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures. Interviews incoming patients or representatives and accurately enters information required for admission into computer database. Distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments. Attempts to collect all co-pays and deductibles for applicable customers in a professional manner at time of registration.
OP Registration Areas: Completes all insurance verification and pre-registration for all outpatient surgery and infusion center patients. Obtains and/or verifies authorizations on all infusion center patients. Arranges for the efficient and orderly admission of inpatients and admissions of individuals who have hospital-based outpatient testing or procedures. Ensures that the patient information is collected and that patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures. Interviews incoming patients or representatives and accurately enters information required for admission into computer database. Accurately enters all outpatient orders in the HMS system. Distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments. Attempts to collect all co-pays and deductibles for applicable customers in a professional manner at time of registration.
QualificationsEducation:
· High School Diploma
· Completed medical terminology course preferred.
Experience:
· Basic computer knowledge.
· Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
· Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate professional action(s).
· Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
· Minimum of 2 years of Hospital or Healthcare registration experience.
· Minimum of 1 year of supervisor experience preferred.
