Job Summary

  • The Market Human Resources Director serves as the strategic HR leader for all assigned locations within a defined market
  • This role partners closely with executive leadership to drive a high-performance culture through proactive employee relations, talent management, compliance, and organizational development
  • The Market HR Director provides expert HR guidance across all business units, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values
  • The Market Human Resources Officer role is pivotal in cultivating a positive workplace culture, enhancing employee engagement, and ensuring HR strategies are aligned with the goals and operational needs of the designated market or region
  • This leadership role is responsible for overseeing HR functions across assigned locations or business units within the market, including the consistent application of policies and procedures, ensuring employment law compliance, developing and implementing retention strategies, managing compensation programs, overseeing Human Resources Information System (HRIS) utilization and reporting, and administering benefits programs
  • The Market Director will serve as a key consultant to market leadership, collaborating with management teams to foster an environment of continuous improvement, strong employee engagement, and high performance across the market
  • This position ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as applicable regulations and standards within the assigned market

Essential Functions

  • Collaborates with market leadership to foster a supportive, inclusive, and high-performing organizational culture
  • Acts as a trusted HR partner to executive and senior leadership, providing strategic HR counsel and guidance across all assigned locations
  • Develops and implements employee engagement, retention, and continuous improvement initiatives tailored to the market’s needs
  • Serves as the lead HR representative in the market, overseeing HR operations across multiple sites
  • Monitors and reports on key HR metrics (e.g., turnover, exit trends) to drive strategic retention efforts
  • Partners with Talent Acquisition to assess staffing needs and align recruitment strategies with market business goals
  • Evaluates and recommends compensation adjustments to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness
  • Provides expert consultation on complex employee relations and disciplinary matters, ensuring legal compliance and organizational consistency
  • Facilitates leadership development programs and supports employee learning initiatives within the market
  • Oversee the performance management process, ensuring timely completion and data accuracy across all locations
  • Collaborates with centralized HR functions (benefits, payroll, compensation) to ensure consistent service delivery
  • Ensures accurate and timely payroll processing by coordinating with local leadership and the payroll team
  • Administers workers’ compensation programs and promotes workplace safety across the market
  • Ensures HR policy compliance and contributes to the development and maintenance of the employee handbook, incorporating market-specific considerations
  • Regularly reviews and updates job descriptions to reflect current responsibilities and align with organizational objectives
  • Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws relevant to market locations
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and direction to HR staff within the market
  • Manages HR budgets and ensures efficient resource utilization within market constraints
  • Promotes customer service excellence and positive employee experience across all sites
  • Participates in quality, safety, and risk management initiatives with a focus on HR-related components
  • Supports the development and competency of all staff within the market through HR initiatives and compliance oversight
  • Other duties as necessary to assure ambulatory system optimization, efficiency, and effectiveness
  • Approximate percentage of time required to travel: 30%
  • Must read, write and speak fluent English
  • Must have good and regular attendance
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations

  • Proven experience in employee relations, talent management, compliance, and organizational development
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive strategic initiatives in a complex, fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with executive leaders and influence at all levels of the organization

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred

Licenses/Certification

  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred

Experience

  • A minimum of three years of Human Resource management experience required; including at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing multiple locations
