ScionHealth is recruiting for a Compliance Specialist to join our Ethics and Compliance team.  Preferred candidates will reside in Nashville, Tennessee  however, remote candidates will be considered on a case-by-case basis. 

Job Summary

The Compliance Specialist supports the ScionHealth Ethics and Compliance Department in a generalist position, assisting on tasks to maintain a robust and defensible Ethics and Compliance Program.The specialist assists on tasks that further and enhance the seven elements of an effective Compliance program, as well as helping the organization to meet other government agency expectations, such as Compliance program data analytics, and an AI Governance framework.The Compliance Specialist collaboratively supports colleagues with the goal of cultivating a culture of integrity, while adding to the Department’s reputation as an approachable, trusted partner.

Essential Functions

  • An individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Takes instructions on workstreams and participates in projects with a high degree of accuracy and quality in deliverables.Subject matter maybe across the privacy program, audits, policies, hotline (including speak up and non-retaliation initiatives), other communications, training & education, investigations, risk assessment and so on.
  • Eventually leads small to medium size workstreams and projects such as building training modules and communications campaigns.
  • Assists and/or leads data analytics activity to enhance the organization’s Ethics and Compliance program.Presents data for Enterprise Steering Committee, Compliance Committee, and other presentations.
  • Assists with gap analysis and remediation activity, further ongoing monitoring and review goals, such as developing and implementing corrective action plans where weaknesses may be identified in the Compliance program, or the evolution of best-in-class Compliance program expectations necessitate change.
  • Leads and supports project which are often cross functional in nature that enhance a robust and defensible Compliance program.This may include researching and benchmarking topical advancements in Ethics and Compliance, resulting in innovation and advancement of the ScionHealth Compliance program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Candidates who exhibit a general understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, EMTALA, Medicare, and Medicaid billing requirements, etc.) will be looked upon favorably.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant experience preferred.

Licenses/Certification

  • Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or other compliance related certification is desirable.

Experience

  • 0-5 years of experience in Compliance or a related area such as legal, risk, quality, health care operations, ideally in a provider setting; detailed understanding of regulatory and health care compliance risk areas; understanding of business operations, objectives, and challenges.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • A keen interest in the practice of Ethics and Compliance with flair for innovation and creative problem-solving.
  • A background or education in data analytics will be looked upon favorably.
  • Graphic design and/or instructional design backgrounds are highly desirable. If no relevant background, skill and experience using tools such as Canva, Vyond and Piktochart are desirable.
  • LMS administrative skills preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint required.
  • A proactive individual who takes pride in high quality work: hungry to add value to a team and learn skills to become self-directing Compliance practitioner.
  • A positive, high-energy individual with focus on customer service: Consistently operates as a team player who demonstrates empathetic reasoning in interactions with the Ethics and Compliance Department and the business.
  • Effectively works cross departmentally on projects and keeps strategy front of mind for efficacious outcomes.
  • Approximate percentage of time required to travel
