Description

The Executive Director of Physician Services at St. Francis-Emory Healthcare is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the operational and strategic management of the organization’s physician practices. This position ensures that the practices operate efficiently, deliver high-quality patient care, and align with the hospital’s mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Oversight: Manage the daily operations of assigned provider practices, ensuring they function smoothly and efficiently. This includes supervising practice administrators and managers to maintain consistent high-quality patient care.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Vice President of Physician Services and facility leadership to develop and implement strategies aimed at practice growth and operational excellence. This involves contributing to strategic decision-making and ensuring alignment with the organization’s objectives.
  • Financial Management: Oversee budgeting processes, monitor financial performance, and implement initiatives to enhance revenue and manage expenses effectively. This includes evaluating physician compensation strategies and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Quality Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by developing and supervising quality programs and services. Ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Physician Recruitment and Retention: Lead efforts in recruiting, developing, and retaining physicians and allied health professionals. Foster an environment that supports professional growth and aligns with the organization’s mission and values.
  • Community Engagement: Represent the organization in the community, building partnerships, and promoting the hospital’s services to enhance its presence and reputation.

  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of budgeting, financial analysis, and revenue cycle management.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree ; a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred or related experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years in physician practice management or a similar healthcare setting, with specific leadership experience. Prior experience working with rural communities is advantageous.
  • Certifications: Certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE), or Fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE) are preferred.
