Emergency Room Tech FT

As an ER Tech one must be either 3rd or 4th semester nursing student, or medical assistant program and currently attending school, or licensed EMT -B, EMT-I, EMT-P. Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care activities, including inserting saline locks, blood draws, placing patients on monitors, performing EKG's.  Answers phone, makes calls for physicians. Initiates calls for transfers at providers request. Stocks supplies in rooms, cleans and turns over rooms after patient leaves.

Minimum Education

• High school diploma or equivalent: Required

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must beable to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
• Handle With Care (HWC) within 30 days of hire
