Provide clerical support, in functional areas of data compilation, quantitative analysis, and verification of records, maintenance of files and correspondence.

Essential Functions

  • Handles information requests, including reviewing files and records, answering inquiries, and responding to incoming work requests.
  • Retrieves and copies medical records for PRO and third-party review.
  • Examines all forms in the hospital discharge record to assure that all forms contained in the record pertain to one patient.
  • Files outpatient and late reports in their proper medical record, files incomplete medical records into the incomplete record file, files completed medical records into the permanent file.
  • Reviews complete medical records for deficiencies and handles appropriately.
  • Submission of birth information to the State, legal signature and documentation may be included in the legal medical record. Paternity duties require notary and submission of paternity related information to the State. Legal signature and documentation may be included in the legal medical record
  • Must complete all education assigned and required for the position including classroom and on-line courses.

Non-Essential Functions

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent, Required

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
